Established in 1936 by Mrs Phyllis Pearsall MBE, in 2006 the Company published 359 titles including sheet maps, road atlases and assorted digital publications for PC's and mobile phones alike. Formats range from large scale street plans of towns and cities to small scale road maps of the whole country. Whilst the maps are based upon Ordnance Survey mapping, we invariably incorporate material acquired by our own cartographers from other sources such as Department of Transport, County and Borough Councils.
In 1966, some 30 years before her death, Mrs Pearsall became aware that death duties could place the Company and her colleagues in jeopardy from take-overs or mergers, so she took the unique step of forming GEOGRAPHERS' MAP TRUST for the benefit of the employees
