La Casa Vecchia

I have been to the casa vecchia a couple of times, each time just confirming my negative view of it. The greeting I have received on two out of the three times I have visited, was less than friendly, on one occasion being left to fed for ourselves as the waitress simply didn't understand what we wanted, due to a rather large language barrier. Hardly difficult given we were standing in a restaurant in the early evening. From then on however the service was ok, the atmosphere could have been considerably better, given that most of nights were spent trying to catch the attention of the waiting staff who raced round the restaurant, trying to serve everyone. However when one did appear they were pleasant and helpful. Our food was ok, but for the price nowhere near good enough. It is one of the pricier resturants in an area full of good places to eat and nothing really differentiates it from anywhere else. I am in two minds as to whether or not we will go back, given the rather good live music. If we do we simply wont waste our money by eating there and go to enjoy the music. If you are desperate to try it out I recommend going early evening or in the week, the weekends are a chaotic nightmare.
