Learning to drive with the Hallmark School of Motoring was a great experience. I was recommended to use Hallmark School of Motoring by my brother & a few of his friends. After being taught by Don, I recommended my sister & friend use him too. The instructor creates a nice relaxed atmosphere to learn in, whilst providing expert tuition. Don was very patient with me during our time together. I did not drive for a few years after passing my test & had a few refresher lessons with Don as I enjoyed his lessons so much. I would recommend anyone to use HSM to learn to drive, the only problem is you'll be having so much fun with Don you won't want to pass your test!

Donald Harris helped me to pass my driving theory and practical first time. He was patient and very helpful. The instructions that he gave were clear and precise so that i was able to complete manovers. I recommend Donald to any drivers both first time and those that need to re-take. He is very experienced and it shows.

Very friendly, supportive, expert tuition. Don's approach is tailored to each individual's strengths and weaknesses and he really brings out the best in his learner drivers. He has a raft of experience, with pupils from 17 to 70! Will encourage pupils to learn at their own pace and will not hold you back. If he thinks you are ready to sit your driving test, it is because you are. Far better than any nationalised chain of driving schools as his instructions are far more fluid. There is no "textbook" or "chart" to map how you theoretically drive, you just "do". The Hallmark School Of Motoring, with their personal approach, go above and beyond all expectations for driving tuition

October 2009 National Tyre Safety Month

Written on 24 Sep 2009, 05:07 PM

OCTOBER 2009.- Did you know October is National Tyre Safety Month. Why not take your car along to your local reputable tyre shop and have your tyres checked now and have them ready for the winter. Please listen to the guy in the shop the difference between what is legal and what is safe is truly frightening. The EU legal limit is 1.6mm for three quarters of the width for the full circumference unbroken at any point means you could have a bald strip running all round the tyre and still be "LEGAL" madness. If you value your family and I am sure you do, try not to let it fall below 3.00mm it makes such a difference to your stopping power you would be stunned. In these times of crash and credit crunch it is very hard I know but we only get one shot at this life, make it a good one...

I will be putting a poster up on my website soon that will help you to "read" all those little numbers on your tyre side... Read more

If you are a driver as part of your job you may be covered by this and be required to comply, better check because if you have not, your licence and insurance will not be valid. Remember you cannot plead ignorance in your defence it is not acceptable in law.

CPD.

Written on 24 Sep 2009, 04:43 PM

CPD, or Continuous Professional Development is what it stands for and in plain English means keeping  up to date with developments. Is your instructor keeping up to date with their knowledge. DSA is actively encouraging Instructors to take part in CPD and make sure they are not falling behind. In days gone by people would take their final exams in almost any subject and qualify then sit back and do no more until the day they retired . Nowadays this is no longer acceptable and we all have to "Keep up to date" so that we stay fresh and abreast of things as in todays world it all changes so quickly. See our website for more information.. News about DSA

Watch this spot for news on DSA proposals and changes to learning to drive and the driving test.

If you are preparing for the test and are in school , college, uni and some clubs have you seen the New Arrive Alive presentation by DSA? It is aimed at new and some not so new drivers to improve their awareness and sense of responsibility on the roads as passengers as well as drivers.

Thinking of Drinking and Driving, What the papers and TV ads forget to tell  you is that with a drink/drive, drugs/drive  conviction how are you going to get a visa for travelling abroad, many countries will not let you in with a criminal conviction. Wonder why?

There are plans afoot with the DSA for driving Instructors to accompany their pupils on test from October2010. Yes that means that your driving instructor or person accompanying you to the te... Read more
